Although an untooning isnt the next thing i'll be working on I thought I'd throw up a poll while i still have some traffic to get an idea of what people like to see most. I narrowed it down to ones i think would be interesting and a challenge to work on. Make you pick on the upper right corner there. The reason I am avoiding certain suggestions is that some were too similar to what I've already tried (such as more Simpsons or Futurama characters) or some weren't human (sonic, spongebob) and some where already untooned if you think of it (like Shrek, or the Gman). I'll leave this poll up for about 10 days and see which is the most popular. Have a neat weekend.

I think Jessica is close enough to being human without being a literal human that she'd be especially creepy. Uncanny valley for the win.
I'm disappointed that you don't want to do non-human characters though. I think that could be especially WTFy.

I think Jessica Rabbit is a really bad idea. There's always this kind of thing:

And even then, you probably need someone to TELL you that it's supposed to be Jessica Rabbit to really get it. Who Framed Roger Rabbit isn't quite the classic everyone thought it would be.
And if you did the big eyes and the weird mouth it might be a little erie, but the character doesn't lend itself to texture. If you want her to remain girly you have to give her a smooth complexion, and all that requires is a little airbrushing and smearing. Besides, after all that effort, you really won't be able to recognize the likeness--it'll look odd, but it won't have that instant sense of recognition that Mario and Homer have. She's just not that much of a recognizable character. Same with Daria, and whoever Stewie and Doug are.
I'd recommend you stick to recognizable sources. Stuff that elicits that instant "yikes!" reaction. Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny--Beavis and Butthead is a fair enough suggestion. Scooby Doo. Someone said: Charlie Brown and Dick Tracy. As for anime suggestions, here you are:

On first though Jessica sounds...uh...interesting. But she is already to "human" and placstic surgery already brought us hundreds of women which do look like toons.
Stevie is my favorit, but I am afraid that his drawing is too simple to untoon it exactly. I think you would have to make up some things to make him "believable".

More suggestions, Carl, Meatwad or Frylock from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I left shake out cause he seems to easy and would not be that special looking probably, but fryman and meatwad could be creepy as hell, carl is just badass, and as a added bonus there is probably 100% chance to get it shown on a tv bump if you send it to adultswim. Other chars from their shows could get on (like stewie), but they seem to show alot of aqua teen fan art during bumps.
